Organiser Dawn Brookes
Dawn has been writing since 2016 and is now author of a bestselling memoir Hurry up Nurse: memoirs of nurse training in the 1970s. She has also written a number of children’s books and launched her first novel at the inaugural festival in 2018.
Inspiration for the event comes totally from a sister event run by author Debbie Young called the Hawkesbury Upton Literature Festival and if we share similar popularity our festival is likely to become bigger and better each year.
All of the authors give their time for free to make the event a success. Please thank them by purchasing at least one book on the day.
This year’s debut Oakwood Literature Festival would not have taken place if it were not for kind volunteers who agreed to work tirelessly behind the scenes and on the day.
