Jo Jakeman is a novelist living in Derby with her family. After several failed attempts to get an agent, she embarked on a writing course with Curtis Brown Creative in 2016. That same year she won Friday Night Live at the York Festival of Writing by reading the opening chapter of the book that was to become her debut thriller, STICKS AND STONES.
Sticks and Stones – a story about domestic abuse and three women who band together against their abuser – is published by Vintage (Penguin Random House) and has sold in ten other territories to date, including the USA. Jo’s second novel, SAFE HOUSE, will be released later this year and is about a woman recently released from prison and unable to put the past behind her.
