Jo Jakeman winner of the prestigious Friday Night Live competition at York Festival of Writing. Jo is a novelist living in Derby with her family.
After several failed attempts to get an agent, she embarked on a writing course with Curtis Brown Creative in 2016. That same year she won Friday Night Live at the York Festival of Writing by reading the opening chapter of the book that was to become her debut thriller, Sticks and Stones.
Jo’s latest novel, Safe House was released in October 2019.
Jo will be a member of a crime panel at this year’s festival.
